Uganda Police has revealed that they recovered government drugs at a health facility in Nansana, a town in Wakiso district. They also arrested and detained a nurse at the clinic after a tip-off from members of the Nansana community.

In a press statement issued on Friday, Asp Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy PRO Kampala Metro Police (KMP) said Police at Nansana Thursday carried out an operation at Brocch Medical services, a clinic in Gganda Wakiso district at around 5 pm.

"This operation was as a result of information from locals, who informed the police that trucks had parked at the clinic and drugs were being offloaded and put in other vehicles,” Owoyesigyire said.

Acting on the said information from the community, police led by the OC CID Nansana responded and were able to recover drugs on a parked Tipper vehicle.

Owoyesigyire said the drugs recovered were marked "Joint Medical Stores, Nsambya", "USAID" and  *GOU-Not for sale*.
