The ministry of health has revealed that they have started installing an oxygen plant at Mulago National Referral Hospital. Oxygen has become the most needed commodity in managing terminally ill COVID19 patients.

“Installation of the new oxygen plant at @MulagoHospital has commenced. The plant is expected to produce 70,000 Ltrs of oxygen per minute in addition to the 2,083 Ltrs produced by the old oxygen plants,” the ministry announced on Twitter.

The ministry recently announced that the country is running short of oxygen as demand due to COVID19 increased. The government then called on well-wishers especially the corporate companies to make donations.

The ministry of health received 20 oxygen concentrators from B’Smart to boost the response to the COVID-19 resurgence

The call received positive reactions as corporate companies have donated but not enough to meet the demand. Today, Friday, the Director of Clinical Services Olaro Charles, on behalf of the ministry received 20 oxygen concentrators from B’Smart to boost the response to the COVID-19 resurgence.

Meanwhile, the ministry in a separate press statement advised Ugandans to desist from administering oxygen to COVID-19 patients within their homes and other ungazetted places.
